µC/OS-II ports

All µC/OS ports can easily be ported to µC/OS-II. If you port µC/OS-II to a processor not listed and want to include your port on this web site, please contact Micrium at Micrium. Note that the ports are provided as is with the exeption of the Micrium ports which are supported by Micrium.

Note that only the PORT is provided and it is assumed that you have the rest of the source for µC/OS-II from the book or the upgrade.

Processors

This modern RISC processor is available as a soft IP core for use in both ASIC and FPGA implementations.

These processors, designed specifically for embedded systems, are extremely small, compact 32 bit processors suitable
for a large range of embedded applications.

The ASP3 is a suitable replacement for low cost 8-bit processors such as the 8051 as well as for use in systems requiring high performance and specialised processing such as image processing subsystems.

The processor has:

A modern RISC architecture (load/store)
High code density (due to mixed 16/32 bit instruction lengths)
Low power, high performance (one cycle per instruction for most instructions)
Simple programming, especially in high level languages (C/C++)
Fast context switches for efficient RTOS implementations
Full debug via JTAG, or UART
GNU tool chain including debugger with GUI
Debug/breakpoint module which permits simple debugging in Flash and ROM
Instruction set simulator with peripherals integrated into debugger
Third party tool support

The instruction set can be easily extended via the high performance coprocessor interface for applications requiring specialized operations (e.g. image processing, packet filtering, DSP operations).

Evaluation boards

A low cost board suitable for evaluating uC/OS-II on the Cortus APS3 processor is the Spartan 3 Starter board available directly from Digilent (http://www.digilentinc.com) for $99.

Cortus can supply the bit map file for this board free of charge subject to a NDA. uC/OS-II on the Cortus APS3 can also be evaluated using the instruction set simulator supplied as part of the tool chain. Please contact Cortus for access to this.
