Licensing Models Definitions

Single Product License

A Single Product License allows you to embed a Micriµm component into one end-product which can be manufactured in any quantity, for the life of the end-product. In other words, this is a royaltyfree license but a different license is required for each different end product (i.e. model) that embeds the Micriµm component even if the end product is in the same family as a previously licensed end product by a different model number or processor type.

General Rule: If you consider it a separate product…so do we!
This license is specific to the processor used AND the specific name and model of the end product.
Examples of a Single Product include any single model of a TV, HDTV, VCR, DVD Player, Network Switch, Network Router, etc. If different only by color then it’s considered the same end-product.

A Single Product License includes free updates, phone and e-mail support for 90 days.

Product Line License

A Product Line License allows you to embed a Micriµm component into any number of end-products within a 'Product Family'. You can manufacture an unlimited number of units of each of those products, for the life of the end-products within the product family. In other words, this is a royaltyfree license but applicable to all end-products that do similar functions within the same product family.

Examples of End-Product lines are: HDTV’s, VCRs, DVD Players, MP3 Players, Washing Machines, GSM Cell Phones, PDA’s, Network Switches, Network Routers, etc.

A Product Line License includes free updates, phone and e-mail support for One Year for two users.

Per-CPU Type License

A Per-CPU Type License allows you to embed a Micriµm component into any number of End-Products using a single, specific, processor type (e.g. 68HC12, 80x86, ARM7, ARM9, ColdFire, MicroBlaze, Nios II, PowerPC, etc.). You can manufacture an unlimited number of units of each of those products, for the life of the end-products that use of the specified Processor Type from a specific manufacturer, e.g.; Atmel, Freescale, Xilinx etc.

Examples of Per-CPU Type End-Products can be a combination of all of the following; so long as they ALL use the same processor from the same manufacturer: HDTV’s, VCRs, DVD Players, MP3 Players, etc.

A Per-CPU Type License includes free updates, phone and e-mail support for one year for two users.

Site License

A Site License allows you to embed a Micriµm component into any end-products which uses any CPU as long as the products are designed from a single site. You can manufacture an unlimited number of units of these products from any location worldwide.

A site is defined as a physical location: a building or series of related buildings within a 2 miles radius. Multiple Site Licenses are required if a company has multiple design facilities. A Site License is not transferable.

A Site License Includes free updates, phone and e-mail support for one year for three users.
